"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. “Matthew 7, 21
Love gives birth to love, kindheartedness to goodness ! A kindhearted man saw the struggles of a widower , when he wanted to marry off his three beautiful daughters . Magnanimously before the wedding he threw in a few pieces of gold , at the feet of the young girl feverishly getting ready . Perhaps he thought that our Lord Jesus Christ performed His first miracle at the wedding in Cana . The years went by and Nicholas also helped the second girl in secret . Before the wedding of the third girl he set out again with a small purse with gold coins, but this time the girls watched out for the man giving out secretly gifts , embraced him , who for his goodness finally he was chosen as a bishop.
The unselfish good deeds of Saint Nicholas , started an avalanche of love from the town of Myra in Lycia , situated in the present area of Turkey, that grows bigger for close on 1800 years , sweeping away in the middle of winter our world sunk into selfishness , solitary greediness . On this day everybody tries to be good, to do good ! On this nice winter day even such people set out on the way of love, who during the year are too busy , and perhaps they do not even realise themselves , yet driven by an inner force get going, making sacrifices , in one word serve , love, hurry to the aid of their fellow human beings !
On this nice winter evening I ask God’s blessing upon all of those , who following in the footsteps of Saint Nicholas set out, taking on themselves the spirituality, kindheartedness  of the great bishop who lived close on 1800 years ago ! I believe that love is capable of renewing our tired world .

Jesus said to the people "Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord", will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only one who does the will of my Father in heaven. "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!"
Matthew 7, 21, 24-27
