In Auschwitz , in the hell of the concentration camp Father Maximilian Kolbe made a decision in favour of love , in the shadows of the gas chambers, where voluntarily he took upon himself to die in place of a family man . He could live with God even there, the road to the kingdom of heaven was not blocked, closed off there either.

In the life of Saint Philip Neri as well what I also saw in mine : that how great it is to live in love, contentment. I never felt it as a burden or sacrifice what I do. Philip’s main characteristic was his serenity according to the writings about his life. Possibly he also must have felt the same , as a grown-up living amongst children always does: how lucky is that person , who gets this calling from the Lord: to take care of children who have a sincere, open heart!

Today is the feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop the first and only saint of Australia. Her parents migrated to Australia from Scotland she was the first of nine children , the family was very poor although hardworking . She was the founder of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart (The Josephites) ..she spent her life mainly taking care of orphaned, neglected , poor girls looking after and teaching them . But also looking after the elderly and terminally ill. The order is still operational in Australia. A Franciscan bishop asked her to found the first school Bishop Laurence Bonaventure Sheil OFM. One of her sisters joined the order as well , one of her brothers became a Jesuit priest.
After her death she was buried in a chapel North Sydney .She was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1995 , when he visited Sydney for World Youth Day he prayed at her graveside . She was canonised by Pope Benedict XVI in the square in front of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Still a lot of people visit Mary’s graveside and ask for healing !

Thanks be to God there are also loving parents, who during the vacation not only visit their children but also take them home ! The Varga girls welcomed their mother with great joy, happiness and went home with her for a few weeks to their village !
I remember my children before retiring tonight with love and in my prayers, who drifted apart during the quietness of the vacation , hoping that in autumn ,rested, with a renewed love of work will we be gathered again by divine dispensation!! Do not forget God gave us only one commandment , love with a pure heart the one who happens to be just by your side !!

Together with Fathers Jónás and Leó we were the novices of Father Barsi Balázs in 1990. How much has happened since then, how many thousands of kilometres did we travel, how many holy masses have we said ? Who could say how many plans, dreams that were fulfilled are behind us and how many good intentions fell through?! It was good to look back , it was great to meet ! I thank you both that you remained true to the “yes-s” proclaimed then!!
