Today was the second day of the Triduum at 6 p.m. that the parish priest of Brád Father Bucimun Gyuszi is celebrating in our church named in honour of Our Lady of Hungary . We thank him for the thought provoking homilies a real guide in our preparation for Advent . The main message is that like for all journeys we tend to overpack our bags  but what we should leave behind are our sufferings, bitterness , sins but definitely make room for our joys ! The holy masses are concelebrated with Father Bernardin. Tomorrow evening is the last day , but there is an opportunity every day to do our Christmas reconciliation, so that we await the arrival of our Redeemer with a clean heart !

The tombstone for dear Father Antal has been finished !!The monument was made by a sculptor from Székelyudvarhely ! This past Saturday , 16 December 2017 , on the first anniversary of his death , we congregated in the cemetery in Küküllőkeményfalva and blessed the sepulchre ! From the cemetery we went to Zeteváralja into the same church the foundations of which were laid by Father Antal, here we celebrated a holy mass for his salvation !! Praise to God, as it can be seen on the photos as well the memorial was worthy of Father Antal ! Many of us gathered , the remembrance was a celebration of his life , as the young and the old of the village gathered and joyfully , with love we remembered our dearly departed , one of the greatest son of this area , even though his life was broken in half by the dictatorship of communism , yet with his beautiful poems, precious books ,with his burning spirit I believe he still lives amongst us even today !!

Father Antal please intercede for your beloved Székely people in the Kingdom of Heaven !

"By the side of the road my eyes were caught by a lonely cross ! In the darkness, silently our Lord Jesus Christ seemed incredibly lonely, at the mercy of others !! Up until now I never thought about that infinite loneliness that Christ lived through dying on the cross: Eli, Eli, lamma , sabaktani “ My God, my God why have You forsaken me ? “ Matthew 27

I was standing at the foot of the cross and I felt that  the most that I can do show my compassion!  I am there and silently, humbly I become part of that infinitely lonely moment ! I lived through with incredible intensity that loneliness, solitude in front of the naked body of the crucified Christ ! 

As I was standing under the cross and quietly I looked around , I realized that I am not the only one looking up at Christ’s cross but Mary, Saint John and the many , many Saints, Martyrs of our world’s history ..In reality all that Mary could do is that She was there, and took part in something that would have happened that would have taken part with or without them!! Mary was there and prayed and I believe that even today She stands by the lonely dying people and prays ! It was good to beseech our heavenly Mother in front of Christ’s cross trustingly to pray for the precious sick people:" Holy Mary , Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Love is a deliberate decision in favour of another person, persevering even if our heart is not really in it. It is futile to love a street kid in the comfort of my room! What he needs, is not to look into my teary ,meek eyes but , that there be bread on his table, a roof over his head, food on his plate, a pencil in his hand , a blanket on his bed, that he gets a good word , a hug.

To do a truly good deed is very difficult for someone "who drives you up the wall ", who continuously crosses you , who is hostile. It is difficult for us, but for Jesus-who loves him as well, who says “what you do for him, you do it for Me”- then we can do good from our heart. This is why we are not calculating , insincere if we do good even if our heart , our fallible human nature would take us in an other direction.

Today I had a memorable experience attending mass at this church. The celebrant was Father Kornél, who also  is  the Secretary General for the International Eucharistic Congress to be held in Budapest in 2020. It was great the church packed with worshippers . On top of it all we had lunch  at mutual friends ‘ place , where we had a chance to talk about many things. May God grant us that many will be able to attend the Congress and in the mean time we can all get closer to our Lord Jesus Christ present in the Holy Eucharist

In order to mature , to become an adult we indeed need the anguish, the distress of failure, struggle , endeavour , to find a way out.  If one can understand this, then one no longer perceives God as cruel , who asks us that by accepting the difficulties, finding of solutions we progress.

I cannot imagine anything more important , than for man to address his Creator , and in their heart of hearts  experience that He replies to him.

The prodigal sons , the weary, burnt-out  people should not be condemned , but they should be lifted up, because there is no greater joy in heaven, than when a repentant sinner gets back on his feet.

I like to imagine the quiet, simple cave in Bethlehem with the Holy Family inside with the Christ Child . What an astonishing simplicity ! The Lord of the Universe came with empty-handed into this world ! He does not bring anything , because He is the Blessing, the Gift !
