Monday 3 July 2017 The Feast of the apostle Saint Thomas..
Thanks and praise to the apostle Thomas, also called the doubting Thomas, for his curiosity as we should never allow the basic truths that determine our lives that half-truths, suppositions, superstitions to become rampant ! Well-well we live in such a world today as well ,that when anybody states any sort of stupidity it can very easily find followers ! The sound mind would like that our lives be determined by worldview built on real truths that should determine our lives . This is why that following Thomas’ example we should examine with doubt the validity of all such statements , rumours  , that we ourselves have not experienced and that are not taught by our two thousand years old Church , to cast away, to turn one’s back on them !! Just as in springtime the caring farmer checks out every lush , wildly growing vine-shoot then resolutely prunes it , somehow that is how I should examine my own beliefs , thinking and the superstitious  wild shoots ,those views , visions , predictions made by people, should be wisely , by common sense snipped in the bud  and burnt  that are incompatible ,contradictory with Christ’s love towards us !!
Painting by Iványi-Grünwald Béla: The doubting Thomas
Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve,
was not with them when Jesus came.
So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord."
But Thomas said to them,
"Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
and put my finger into the nailmarks
and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."
Now a week later his disciples were again inside
and Thomas was with them.
Jesus came, although the doors were locked,
and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands,
and bring your hand and put it into my side,
and do not be unbelieving, but believe."
Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
John 20, 24-29

How simple it is to approach Jesus and speak to Him and how great it is to hear the Master’s voice :‘I will come and cure him.’There is no waffling, beating about the bush , alluding to kickbacks, bribery, , nothing , Jesus does not  allude to tiredness, a lot of work but simply gets the message and is ready, willing to leave to help this unknown , simple servant !
Lets think about it if somebody asks us a favour how willing are we to “hear” it? Am I approachable do people dare to come to me and dare to tell me their problems, complaints , requests ? Did I ever do unselfishly or am I doing good for my fellow human beings , if the features of our Lord , to be ready to help are always readily visible on my face as well ? I am a person born in the image and likeness of God, do I put into practice the merciful charity or am I only capable of doing anything for money ??

5 When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, appealing to him 6and saying, ‘Lord, my servant is lying at home paralysed, in terrible distress.’ 7And he said to him, ‘I will come and cure him.’ 8The centurion answered, ‘Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed. 9For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, “Go”, and he goes, and to another, “Come”, and he comes, and to my slave, “Do this”, and the slave does it.’ 10When Jesus heard him, he was amazed and said to those who followed him, ‘Truly I tell you, in no one* in Israel have I found such faith. 11I tell you, many will come from east and west and will eat with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12while the heirs of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 13And to the centurion Jesus said, ‘Go; let it be done for you according to your faith.’ And the servant was healed in that hour.
14 When Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever; 15he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve him. 16That evening they brought to him many who were possessed by demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and cured all who were sick. 17This was to fulfil what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah, ‘He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.’

Christ would like to heal us in many ways!! The herbal remedies are also our Creator’s gifts !! Many of them are  growing in a garden where Father Kájoni János harvested them back in his days in Csíksomlyó ,where the annual festival is taking place today ..I myself am also joining the festivities…

When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said,
"Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean."
He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said,
"I will do it. Be made clean."
His leprosy was cleansed immediately.
Then Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one,
but go show yourself to the priest,
and offer the gift that Moses prescribed;
that will be proof for them.”
Matthew 8, 1-4

Obedience !! The young couple are dancing , soaring in the wind , keeping a close eye on each other , together they are marvellous ! Saint Francis sees as the essence in following of our Lord Jesus Christ in listening to God , in the conscientious paying attention to our Creator and this is why he only accepted those as his brothers , who  were also willing to take a vow for their willingness to do this !
Our Lord Jesus Christ also professes loudly : “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me  ..”John 4, 34
The greatness of Peter and Paul is by following Christ they sanctify themselves to God ! The two “princes” of the apostles dared and knew to empathise with Jesus Christ , with His plans , with His will in the redemption of the world ?. "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” St Paul, letter to the Galatians 2, 20
Stepping out from our own selfishness , de we dare by putting all our eggs in one basket, following the example of the apostles Saint Peter and Saint Paul in devoting ourselves to God’s will , that will that is loud and clear for me both from the ten commandments , in the commandment of love but that what is conveyed to me through my conscience , and our Mother the Church also clearly mediates for all of us !

When Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi
he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my Church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16, 13-19

The human features are present on all the people in the gospel but at the same time our Creator’s precious presence also shines everywhere as well !! The Holy Scripture is authentic , because heaven and earth touches on its pages so that both worlds’ presence is palpable, perceptible !! The elderly Elizabeth, the father struck dumb , the birth of the little John the Baptist, God’s precious gift! Looking at the peaceful, joyous happenings , the prayer breaks forth from our heart, we kneel in front of our heavenly Father with our problems a well! We trustingly ask God’s help , be that a sweet little child or a wise prophet providing answers to the troubles of our world !
Even if silently but lets pray , beseech the the Heavenly Father for His precious gifts , then glorifying our Creator , joyfully may we fall to the ground under the weight of the heavenly gifts!!

When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child
she gave birth to a son.
Her neighbors and relatives heard
that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her,
and they rejoiced with her.
When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child,
they were going to call him Zechariah after his father,
but his mother said in reply,
"No. He will be called John."
But they answered her,
"There is no one among your relatives who has this name."
So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called.
He asked for a tablet and wrote, "John is his name,"
and all were amazed.
Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed,
and he spoke blessing God.
Then fear came upon all their neighbors,
and all these matters were discussed
throughout the hill country of Judea.
All who heard these things took them to heart, saying,
"What, then, will this child be?"
For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.
The child grew and became strong in spirit,
and he was in the desert until the day
of his manifestation to Israel.

Lets pray with the knowledge , that even the most beautiful prayer is only a weak echo of our Lord’s infinite love for us ! Our Creator already loved us and invited us to a life community with Him when we did not even exist , because in reality in every person the Holy Trinity’s infinite love is embodied , stands on two feet , and woken up to consciousness embarks on the way towards heaven !!
With love,

Jesus said to his disciples:
"In praying, do not babble like the pagans,
who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them.
Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
"This is how you are to pray:
'Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.'
"If you forgive others their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”
Matthew 6, 7-15

"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. “Matthew 5,44-45
Jesus’ words should be seen as a an instruction manual for our lives !! Lets take it seriously , stick to it and we’ll see how everything will become simple, clear , feasible !! Lets trust in our Lord who created the world , surely He also knows with certainty how will this all work optimally !! I tried it, often I loved even those in whose presence even in me the alarm bells were ringing , but I did not flee, I did not shout however I stayed , and I can thank this for bearing many fruit in my life!! Love is such a force , that also forms you, sanctifies your surrounding ! Take into your hand the magic wand of love, Jesus gives it to you and use it.

Do not even the tax-collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers and sisters,* what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Sunday 18 June 2017 The Feast of the Holy Body and Blood of Christ: Corpus Christi.
This world is absolutely beautiful, man being curious by nature wanders over his surrounding , pulls out every draw , driven by the desire to become acquainted ! Man embarking on the ways of discovery often had the feeling that they walked into a wall but there was always a way of getting further , finding somewhere a crack, a split and once wriggling through it one could step into a wonderful,  newer , wide domain of our existence !!The greats of humanity are continuously stretching the boundaries, the confines, last century our scientists understood that matter is really energy that can also be released from the atomic structure !! This discovery is not only about Hiroshima , but every single nuclear power station , for example Paks , that I also visited and if it would stop tomorrow , the greater part of Hungary would loose her energy supply, that would also collapse, turning the country into darkness and large area of the country would sink into conditions similar to the middle ages !
The energy , the force , could also become embodied , on the dawn of our creation -according to the current scientific views - our world was born close to 14 billion years ago at the time of  the big bang ! And this is also what happened two thousand years ago on Christmas Eve , the infinite love of God became incarnate in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ !! Yes we believe and profess that our God came among us , became incarnate from the Virgin Mary , Jesus Christ is true God and true Man , this is the basis of our faith!  With our Mother the Church I profess , that the living God did not only become incarnate in Bethlehem , but in every holy mass , to the “yes” of our loving devotion but also , with kind-hearted love , the Word becomes flesh in the Holy Eucharist ! This is a wonderful big secret that our Redeemer discloses to us on several occasions , and for the celebration of which He Himself gave a commandment as well  on Holy Thursday:”do this in memory of me “! The heavenly bread offered by Jesus, is the greatest treasure of our Catholic Church , as the  Vatican council  states,  the  source of our life but during the time of our earthly  life  the highest achievable pinnacle as well ! During my visit to Iraq, I also saw it everywhere that the priests of the Christian churches under attacked did not flee with treasures of gold and silver , but embracing  tightly  the Holy Eucharist, when looking for security in far away places !
Studying history it is obvious , that those people, that community that drifts away from the Holy Eucharist is like the branch cut off the vine, perhaps if it falls into water it will live for a while but then it gets paler, dries out and dies ! Jesus speaks very  unambiguously :"Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you. “
On the Feast of Corpus Christi let us gather in our churches with a childlike trust and together with our priests following the example of Mary, lets say “yes” to the call of God and celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh in the Holy Eucharist , the God coming among us , wanting to embrace us !
On bended knees ,
Father Csaba
translated by dr k.e.
Jesus said to the Jewish crowds:
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh for the life of the world."
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,
"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
Jesus said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life,
and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food,
and my blood is true drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died,
whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
John 6, 51-58

According to our scientists energy originates from matter, and from energy matter!! Love is the greatest energy in our world ! The pure love of God two thousand years ago, to Mary’s “Yes” of acceptance, the Word became flesh. I believe and  profess , that in every holy mass to our faltering “yes” God’s love becomes flesh again, becomes bread , and the same infinite goodness and love comes among us in the Holy Eucharist ! I bow my head before this great mystery.
Father Csaba
translated by dr k.e.
Jesus spoke to the crowds about the kingdom of God, and he healed those who needed to be cured. As the day was drawing to a close, the Twelve approached him and said, "Dismiss the crowd so that they can go to the surrounding villages and farms and find lodging and provisions; for we are in a deserted place here."
He said to them, "Give them some food yourselves." They replied, "Five loaves and two fish are all we have, unless we ourselves go and buy food for all these people." Now the men there numbered about five thousand. Then he said to his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about fifty." They did so and made them all sit down.
Then taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing over them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets.

'Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law ….... “ says our Lord Jesus Christ.
Over the last, close on 25 years ,we took in more than five thousand children , and through them I got to know the troubles, problems of many, many families . . I believe that in the tragedy  every community falling apart on a certain level one can find they committed sin either willingly or unwillingly . If man disregards any one of the ten commandments then suffering, pain  , falling apart follows almost automatically. God in His commandments , laws gave an “instruction manual “ . That person who will take this seriously, will keep it , will be happy. Naturally the cross will appear in our lives even if we live without sin , lovingly , but this cross as our Lord declares it :" my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”Matthew11, 30…and that is why it does not cut into the flesh and does not pull you down, but it lifts you up, fulfils you . Our Lord Jesus Christ would like us to use the ten commandments as a precious compass and we should consult it prior to any decisions , steps we take.
I pray from the bottom of my heart that we find enough wisdom to walk on the way of God’s commandments every day of our lives .
With love,
Father Csaba

Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete them. In truth I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear from the Law until all its purpose is achieved.
Therefore, anyone who infringes even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered the least in the kingdom of Heaven; but the person who keeps them and teaches them will be considered great in the kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 5, 17-19

Like mushrooms after the rain growing out from the ground , lately, so are the whinging , complaining, bitter people, finding faults, something wicked in their companions, even in the whole world! Where do all these hypocritical pharisees , so much negativity, bitterness in the hearts come from !?
For ten days I travelled with Izabella whose picture you can see, and with her fifteen companions . What they have in common that all of them are my lovely, nice, talented children! They performed together a nice play by Heltai Jenő “Néma Levente “. Izabella is in year seven , she played the servant girl in the play , but the lovely smile seen on her face in the picture never left her face ! She lives in one of our Child Protection homes just like her companions , but during these very demanding, tiring ten days I always saw them so beautiful, smiling ,Jesus could have taken any  one of them sitting on His lap to be an example for us !!Lets not forget our Master’s words :"“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”Matthew 18,3
Just think , why would you have to live your life as a sour pharisee looking for faults in others !? Why could you not be cheerful, jolly child , placed as a model in front of us , or the modest widow who withdrawn into herself quietly does her own chores?
Lets learn from Izabella , from the orphans who may not have much yet with gratitude in their hearts are capable by thanking God, and our supporters are living their lives !!!

38As he taught, he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, 39and to have the best seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets! 40They devour widows’ houses and for the sake of appearance say long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
41He sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. 42A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny.43Then he called his disciples and said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. 44For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”
Mark 12, 38-44
