You plant a tree in the yard, and you water it , take care of it so it will become large and blossom out, and because of this the world will be more beautiful . By this you are building the kingdom of God : You see the sick, the ignorant children and other’s suffering causes you pain : you study, you educate yourself , you heal, you teach , you dream about an establishment, you struggle for it, so your dream, your plan become a reality, you knock and rattle doors , negotiate with the authorities - you may not realise , but you are God’s partner.

Momentarily many things can really hurt, but as the emotions settle , often you yourself cannot quite understand how could something seem to have such a great importance . In the past, every day I made notes as to what upset me a lot and it what was that made me happy. After a while I reread it and crossed out those grievances that were no longer important. At the end of the year I reread it again and there was hardly anything left most of it could have been bagged. If this method is put into practice , at the times of quarrels you already think :” Why should I upset myself on account of this? In a week’s time it won’t really matter.” You learn to get at the heart of the matter.

Within the commandment of love for me as a Franciscan I have a small compass: I do free of charge that others would not even do for money. I love those free of charge that others would not even love for money. I stay away from the ones who are loved, taught ,served by many for money . It could be said I do not like competition. I want to be the humble lesser brother of the least ones .
