Think about it , is your existence really God’s blessing for the other one ! Ask yourself : “ Am I in reality a gift for the other person? This my day today, this sentence that I have just said, was this like a caress ? A kind hug ? A blessing ? A healing balm for the other’s wound ? A warm spring shower, a sunshine  that brings the timid buds in my companion to burst into a flower ? “ Surely God did not create anybody to be a curse, a difficulty or a troublesome scandal in this world. The Lord would like that all of us in our own way be His blessing , His gift , symbols of His love for our families, our people, our nation, or church .Become what you were born for, dare to take responsibility for yourself and you will be happy !!

In Advent we not only remember the past Christmas , the coming of the Christ Child two thousand years ago but we also consciously prepare for the second coming of Christ as well !! For this reason the preparation in Advent is not only a nice tradition but a way of life  like that of John the Baptist ! Come let us prepare in our hearts, in society the way of the Lord, let us pave the way in our families, our workplaces the paths of love!! Let us try to open the gates of a new world !! Let us believe that we will see with our own eyes our Saviour  renewing our world !!

Today at 11 a.m. a requiem mass was held for Father Antal in Szászváros where he spent the last 12 years of his life. The holy mass was celebrated by Dr Jakubinyi György archbishop of Transylvania , the commemoration of his life was beautifully presented by Father Bernardin . Many members of the clergy were present all who held him in high esteem even from Hungary. One’s feelings , emotions were stirred as Father Antal by the example of his life touched many of us. His love for his Creator, our Lady, his people ,  his country , nature signified his life . He did a lot for the young people of Transylvania . The most influential people in his life apart from God, our blessed Lady , were the great bishop Márton Áron and Father Csaba. He was a man who thought of others , though he had a very difficult life there was no bitterness in him ,even though all this took a terrible toll on his health ,but never diminished his gist for life he was always full of plans that he tried hard to bring to fruition. What is certain he was a man whose memory will live on in our hearts . His funeral will be held tomorrow his mortal remains will return to his hometown Küküllőfalva .

May God grant him eternal rest .

The parishioners of Szászváros and the again orphaned children of the Saint Francis Foundation  are farewelling dear Father Biró Antal on Friday 16 December 2016 by taking part in a holy mass starting at 11 a.m . The funeral will take place in the village where he was born in Küküllőkeményfalva on  Saturday 17 December 2016 ,the funeral service starting once again at 11 a.m. !

The Kingdom of Heaven !  Our eternal home ! What does it matter , if here on earth anything is taken away from us , if we know , that You our beloved God  , You are waiting for our  homecoming ?

Gaudete Sunday. The third Sunday of Advent ….the pink candle is lit...

Father Csaba was the chief celebrant at the mass today at the Hungarian National Shrine for our Lady at Mátraverebély- Szentkút…..The second last Sunday of Advent …the church was packed full  by pilgrims honouring our Lady ..the theme of his homily was about .this was the beginning of the two day retreat….after the first reflection the children from Nagyszalonta enriched the program by a short play on the life of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary…

Love is a conscious decision in favour of the other person, persevering even if my heart is not really in it. It is futile to love a street kid in the comfort of my room! What he needs, is not to look  into my teary ,gentle eyes but , that there be bread on his table, a roof over his head, food on his plate, a pencil in his hand , a blanket on his bed, that he gets a good word , a hug.

To do a truly  good deed is very difficult for someone "who drives you up the wall ", who continuously crosses you , who is malicious.It is difficult for that individual, but for Jesus-who loves him as well, who says “what you do for him, you do it for Me”- we can do good from our heart. This is why we are not calculating , insincere if we do good even if our heart , our fallible nature would take us in an other direction.
